Young Spanish talent becomes youngest player to feature in semi-finals of major international tournaments

Lamine Yamal made history this Tuesday by breaking Pelé’s record.

The young Spanish talent was introduced by Luis de la Fuente against France in the Euro 2024 semi-finals and became the youngest player ever to feature in the semi-finals of a major international tournament.

Pelé, a legend of Brazilian and world football, played against France in the 1958 World Cup at the age of 17 years and 244 days. Against the same opponent, Lamine Yamal entered the field at the age of 16 years and 362 days.
