Ronaldo Jr begging dad not to retire as he wants to play on pitch with CR7

CRISTIANO RONALDO JR has begged his dad not to retire – because he wants to play together on the pitch with him.

The GOAT turned 39 and some are suggesting he is starting to show his age on the pitch.

But he has previously placed on record his desire to keep going into his 40s and reiterated that plan earlier this year.

However, he may stay in the game longer than even he might have expected to keep his son happy.

Cristiano Jr is showing plenty of promise, starring in the Juventus academy before making the switch to link up with United’s youngsters this season.

Ronaldo said: “My son tells me, ‘Dad hold on a few more years – I want to play with you.'”

The Portuguese superstar posted a photo of him and ‘Cristianito’ training together in Red Devils kit in January.

He captioned the post: “Present and future.”

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner predicts his eldest child could go on to do great things in football – but continues to give him the freedom to choose what he wants to do.

He said: “Only time will tell. I will never pressure him.

“He will do what he wants.

“Also what I want the most for Cristianito and everyone else is that they’re happy and that they choose what they want.

“I will support in any way.”

Former Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen famously replaced his dad Arnor as a sub for Iceland – but the pair never played on the pitch at the same time.

A few father-and-son combos have been team-mates, including Henrik and Jordan Larsson for Hogaborg as well as Brazilian World Cup winner Rivaldo and Rivaldinho for Mogi Mirim.
