Real Madrid consider selling academy prodigy to help continue his development

Real Madrid’s academy has produced some notable talents in the last few years and among the young trailblazers to come through La Fabrica is Nico Paz.

The bright prospect made his first team debut last season and shone in sporadic appearances. His most distinct moment arrived in the UEFA Champions League when he scored a scorcher against Napoli.

However, with competition always a deterrent to young players’ growth, talk of a departure has been gaining ground.

Nico Paz could be on his way out

Indeed, according to The Athletic, Real Madrid are contemplating a strategic move to transfer Nico Paz to a La Liga club. This would provide him valuable game time and facilitate his development as a player.

This decision reflects the club’s commitment to nurturing their young talents by offering them opportunities for regular first-team action elsewhere.

Additionally, Nico Paz has recently changed his agency, which could indicate that a transfer is on the horizon.

Real Madrid aims to structure the deal with a transfer fee and a buyback option, similar to arrangements made with previous youth products.

This approach is designed to ensure they retain the ability to re-acquire the player if necessary. However, this specific condition has contributed to delays in finalizing the operation.

Reports recently mentioned that the academy product’s family is pushing for a move to Leganes during this transfer window.

A bright talent

Aged 19, Paz possesses a lethal left foot and is known for his precise passing and scoring prowess.

Most recently, he assisted twice in Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Albacete in the pre-season, a sign of his immense talents.

As such, the Merengues recognize that stunting his development as a bench warmer is not a wise route and he would be much better off at a La Liga club.
