Real Madrid expected to field an all Brazilian frontline against Barcelona – report

Following a 1-0 defeat to AC Milan in their first pre-season friendly on the US tour, Real Madrid will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they lock horns with arch-rivals Barcelona this weekend.

The Merengues will take on the Catalan giants, under the new management of Hansi Flick, at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, hoping to improve their El Clasico record on US soil.

Leading up to the game, Carlo Ancelotti has welcomed back some key players in training as the Brazilian trio of Eder Militao, Vinicius Jr., and Rodrygo Goes have linked up with the squad in the USA after their vacation.

An all-Brazilian attack

Ancelotti tried out a novel attacking line against AC Milan which saw Arda Guler operate from the right and Brahim Diaz from the left with new signing Endrick starting as the No. 9.

But, against Barcelona, there are expected to be changes as MARCA reports that the Real Madrid manager plans to go in with an all-Brazilian attacking unit of Rodrygo, Endrick, and Vinicius in El Clasico.

Endrick was unable to make a great impact in the game against Milan but showcased the attributes that he brings to the table, providing the team with a different option in the No. 9 position.

Rodrygo and Vinicius would be occupying the wide areas on the right and left sides respectively, hoping to make inroads into the Barcelona defence with regularity.

A good showing in the Clasico and the subsequent friendly against Chelsea would hold the three forwards as well as Real Madrid in very good stead as they gear up to kick off the season with the UEFA Super Cup clash against Atalanta in under two weeks.
