Vinicius talks Endrick, Mbappe, Modric, Bellingham, objectives – ‘Hope we can do great things’

Over the past few years, Vinicius Jr has established himself as one of Real Madrid’s most important and reliable players.

His sensational performances over the year place him as one of the favourites to take home the Ballon d’Or, especially given his impact in the UCL where he scored a goal even in the final.

The Brazilian made his first appearance in this year’s preseason against Barcelona in the team’s last game and looked to be in fine touch despite the hiatus.

Speaking to the club media in a recent interview, the Real Madrid superstar commented on the team’s upcoming season, his ambitions and the new experiences that lay ahead.

Needless to say, he began his interview by addressing the elephant in the room: Kylian Mbappé’s arrival. Speaking on playing alongside the World Cup winner, he said,

“Playing with Mbappe is going to be brutal, I hope we can do great things. We have to look after him and do everything possible so he can adapt quickly.”

“It’s always difficult to join another club, but we already did it with Bellingham,” he added.

Los Blancos’ preseason so far has not gone to plan with the men in white losing both their opening games in the USA. Vinicius, however, maintained that a lot would change when the entire squad was back.

“We are preparing and waiting for the remaining players so that this season is like the last one.”

Commenting on his ambitions for the upcoming season, the Ballon d’Or favourite did not hesitate in saying that he was looking for a better run than last season.

“I want to win more titles than last season, score more goals, give more assists. I am 24 and I want to keep getting better.”

“I’ve been here for six years, but I can’t get tired of seeing Modrić playing one more year and being able to learn from him and all the other players,” he added.

Finally, Vinicius extended a warm welcome to young Endrick whose pre-season so far has not been one to brag about.

“Endrick is very young but he is focused and knows that he can help us when we need him.”
