Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti have consistently insisted that their squad is complete ahead of the new season.
After securing Kylian Mbappe and Endrick, Los Blancos remain unperturbed by the glaring void at centre-back and refuse to turn to the market despite being snubbed by Leny Yoro.
The manager, needless to say, counts on the three existing centre-backs, with Aurelien Tchouameni and young Jacobo Ramon as cover for the upcoming season.
Serious Quality
As revealed in a recent report by Rodra (h/t Madrid Xtra), Eder Militao’s recovery from his setback and the faith the manager holds in the Brazilian are the cornerstones of Ancelotti’s confidence.
In fact, the management sees great potential in his pairing with Antonio Rudiger, as they believe the two complement each other well and enhance each other’s strengths.
The report further states that the Rudiger-Militao combination at the back is, in many ways, seen to be as formidable as the partnership between Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe in the final third.
After all, both pairings involve two of the best in the world working together to reach great heights as a combination.
Solid in the UEFA Super Cup
The Militao-Rudiger combination started in Real Madrid’s clash against Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup earlier this week, and it’s safe to say that both players excelled on the night.
Militao, in 90 minutes, recorded a staggering six clearances, one clearance off the line, blocked two shots, made three tackles, and won four duels against the Italians, while also completing 92% of his passes.
Rudiger, meanwhile, also impressed with three clearances, three tackles, an interception, and three duels won.
