Real Madrid TV lashes out Barcelona, La Liga over Dani Olmo registration: ‘Sea full of filth’

Real Madrid TV has once again taken aim at La Liga, the referees, as well as arch-rivals Barcelona, lashing out at them for several reasons.

RMTV has become infamous over the past year for criticising match officials in La Liga while they have previously fired shots at Barcelona as well.

Now, the Spanish capital club’s official broadcasting channel has once again hit out Barça and the league, questioning the registration of the Blaugrana’s new signing Dani Olmo.

Dani Olmo’s registration questioned

Olmo was registered on Tuesday in La Liga with Barça making use of Andreas Christensen’s injury-enforced absence to get their new signing enrolled.

Under Article 77 of La Liga regulations, such a manoeuvre is permitted only if the injured player is out for a long period, but Christensen’s injury is said to keep him out for only a couple of months.

As such, Athletic Club had already approached La Liga to see if there were any ‘irregularities’ and now Real Madrid TV has called the entire situation a farce, claiming that their club has to ‘navigate through a sea of filth’ in this competition.

“Barça are allowed to register players arguing that a player’s injury of a month or a month and a half is long term. They allow it and he ends up being decisive yesterday in Vallecas,” the Real Madrid TV report said.

“It’s a competition that doesn’t stand up, it’s all very funny, very ordinary. Real Madrid has to navigate in this sea full of filth and obviously, we have to continue.”

Refereeing and commentators also bashed

Not stopping at that, Real Madrid TV also raised question marks about the refereeing, stating that Barcelona were clearly favoured over the Merengues.

“The biggest rivals had a very clear sending off for Cubarsí at Mestalla and Madrid had a penalty disallowed in Mallorca and Maffeo’s sending off was pardoned.

“It’s not the fault of the rivals, it’s the fault of those who allow it. If Maffeo is allowed to do that and he doesn’t get a red card, he will continue to do it. Of course, if he does it against another opponent, he will be sent off. That’s the way it is.”

Continuing, RMTV’s report also bashed the commentators who were narrating last night’s game between Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano, as it stated:

“Yesterday in Rayo – Barça, a goal was disallowed for a foul on Koundé. When the goal was awarded, the narrator and the commentators said that it wasn’t that bad but then went quiet when they saw the foot strike.

“It’s the strength and the story and that’s what Madrid have to fight with.”

Concluding, RMTV questioned La Liga and the way it is being run while also pointing fingers at MediaPro, the company that handles the broadcast, saying:

“The league is worth more, it has a lot of merit, despite the fact that the prestige comes from the Champions League. It is not normal. There is a conflict of interests.

“The company that provides the images and is in charge of the VAR has a clear and recognised interest in Barcelona winning. One of its top managers said that Negreira was well-paid. It doesn’t make any sense. It’s a third-world competition.”
