USA predicted lineup vs Panama (4-3-3)
GK: – Matt Turner kept his fourth clean sheet of the year for USA against Bolivia.
RB: – Joe Scally is growing into his starting position at Copa America 2024, and gets another chance to put in a solid performance against Panama before he must face the superior skill of Uruguay.
CB: – Despite the 2-0 scoreline, Richards struggled against Bolivia, giving up several giveaways that could have cost his side a goal. He will likely retain his starting spot against Panama, but Berhalter also has to turn to should Richards have another unimpressive performance.
CB: – Tim Ream might be 36 years old, but the center-back still leads Berhalter’s defense and will look to help his keeper keep another clean sheet tomorrow.
LB: – Robinson continues to be one of USA’s best, most underrated players, and he will once again shine against Panama.
CM: – McKennie is a workhorse for the USA and will be a near-permanent fixture in the midfield at Copa America 2024 and likely the 2022 World Cup.
CM: Tyler Adams – Tyler Adams only played the first half against Bolivia as Berhalter still manages the player’s return from injury, but Adams offers a calm, rather unflappable presence to the midfield that is invaluable against teams with some of the best attackers in the world.
CM: – Reyna has yet to record a goal or an assist in the USA’s last three matches, but the man still brings a creativity and quality the team needs to break through compact defenses. He is easily the best choice of Berhalter’s midfielders to link up with the USA’s forwards in the attack.
RW: Timothy Weah – Tim Weah is as solid as they come on the right wing, and he is developing a lethal chemistry with Balogun and Pulisic that can easily exploit inferior backlines in the tournament.
ST: Folarin Balogun – Balogun all-but secured his starting spot with his goal against Bolivia, proving he can be the consistent No. 9 Berhalter has been seeking.
LW: Christian Pulisic – Pulisic continues to be the USA’s best player, and he will look to score his third goal in as many matches on Thursday.
