Real Madrid attacking starlet poised to join Getafe on loan

There appears to be a lot of movement happening at Real Madrid in the last two days of the summer transfer window.

Dani Ceballos appears to be on his way out while Reinier Jesus is set to sign for La Liga 2 club Granada on a season-long loan deal.

Now, it appears that another young talent from within the club’s academy could be on his way out, following the likes of Mario Martin, Marvel, Nico Paz, and Rafa Marin, among others.

Alvaro Rodriguez on his way to Getafe

Indeed, according to Mario Cortegana, Real Madrid striker Alvaro Rodriguez is all set to sign for La Liga side Getafe on loan for the rest of the season.

Considering the attacking quality present in the first-team setup, Rodriguez was expected to move on this summer, with Real Madrid initially being open to a permanent departure.

The Merengues even set an asking price of €10 million for 50% of the 20-year-old’s rights even though they were aware that no club would be willing to meet that valuation.

As days passed, the idea of accepting a loan exit was seen in a more favourable light and Getafe are now all set to sign him.

The Azulones have been working to sign Rodriguez for some time now, although their manager Jose Bordalas asked the club to briefly pause the pursuit in the hope of bringing in a more experienced player.

However, Getafe have now opted to move ahead with the signing of Rodriguez, who also had some last-minute interest from Real Sociedad, but it came to nothing.

The 20-year-old will be joining the Madrilenian outfit only on a simple loan deal as things stand with no option for a purchase. With his contract at Real Madrid running until 2027, he will return to the club next year.
