‘Alarms have gone off’ – Real Madrid concerned about attacking duo’s recent displays

The 2024/25 season was tipped to be one where Real Madrid would be absolutely unstoppable – after all they had added a spectacular new weapon named Kylian Mbappe to their arsenal that already had Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo Goes, and Jude Bellingham.

The first game of the season – the UEFA Super Cup clash vs Atalanta gave a further boost to the hype as all four players impressed as Real Madrid won their first trophy of the season.

Fast forward a couple of weeks, though, and things are not looking all too rosy for Carlo Ancelotti and his men as they have won only one of their three La Liga matches, dropping points against Mallorca and Las Palmas.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have won three in three despite being without some key players through injury and their new signing Dani Olmo being unable to play in two games due to registration issues.

Concerns at Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe’s disappointing start to the La Liga campaign is a matter of worry, but reports suggest that Real Madrid are happy to be patient with their superstar signing.

However, according to MARCA, ‘alarms have gone off’ with regard to the performances of Brazilian duo Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes.

Reports earlier this month had already suggested that Real Madrid had some concerns with Vinicius, his performance and his state of mind, especially since the mammoth offer from Saudi Arabia came along.

And his performance in the match against Las Palmas, even though he scored from the penalty spot, has confirmed all the doubts at the club.

However, Vinicius is not the only one causing concern, as the spotlight is also on his compatriot Rodrygo, who made little or no contribution against Las Palmas after his appearance at half-time.

The Brazilian has been a subject of transfer speculation throughout the summer and even though an exit was never considered, there are concerns that he may have become distracted.

Vinicius and Rodrygo have made it abundantly clear that their desire is to stay at Real Madrid and win more titles.

But as per the report, within the club, there is a feeling that their attitude and gestures have not been the same and that There is a lack of intensity, desire and effectiveness.

Ancelotti asked the team before the game against Las Palmas for speed, dynamism and commitment, but all of it was lacking, especially from those in attack, raising a big concern at Real Madrid.
