Injury Blow: Real Madrid’s 28-year-old star out for two months with ankle injury

Real Madrid face yet another setback as midfielder Dani Ceballos has sustained a grade III sprain in his right ankle, as confirmed by the club.

The club confirmed the news through a medical report that highlighted the seriousness of the injury. Ceballos suffered this injury during Real Madrid’s match against Betis, and it appears it will keep him sidelined for a significant period.

Earlier today, Real Madrid released a statement explaining the extent of Ceballos’s injury:

“Following tests carried out today on our player Dani Ceballos by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a grade III sprain affecting the ligaments in his right ankle. Pending evolution.

Based on the medical assessment, Ceballos is expected to be out of action for around six to eight weeks, depending on how his recovery progresses.

Challenging times for Real Madrid

This injury comes at a particularly challenging time for Ceballos. The match against Betis marked his first appearance in the starting lineup this season, a chance for him to prove his worth to the coaching staff.

With this setback, it will be even harder for him to regain his spot and the confidence of the coaches upon his return.

Real Madrid are already dealing with a shortage of midfield options, with key players like Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga also recovering from injuries.

The team’s depth in midfield will be tested in the coming weeks. Fortunately, Real Madrid have a bit of a reprieve as the FIFA international break means no matches for the next two weeks, allowing some time for recovery.

It must be noted that Ceballos had considered leaving Real Madrid this summer due to limited playing time. However, no team matched Real Madrid’s asking price, so he stayed. Just days after the transfer window closed, Carlo Ancelotti surprised many by including Ceballos in the starting lineup against Betis.

Ancelotti described Ceballos as “very important,” showing faith in the midfielder despite the circumstances.

Now, with this new injury, Ceballos’s future remains uncertain. He faces a tough road to recovery and will have to work hard to regain his place in the team once he is fit again.
