Real Madrid forward loves the club, never considered summer exit – Romano

Over the past few months, there were many rumours and speculations about the future of Rodrygo Goes at Real Madrid.

Following the signings of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick in the summer, it was suggested that the 23-year-old Brazilian’s spot in the team was no longer guaranteed and that he could move on, especially with Manchester City strongly interested.

In the end, nothing of that sort materialised, with neither Real Madrid nor Rodrygo exploring the possibility of a summer departure.

Rodrygo doubles down on stance

Now, Fabrizio Romano reports that Rodrygo never considered the possibility of leaving Real Madrid at any point in the summer.

As per the Italian transfer expert, the 23-year-old Brazilian attacker was never fazed by the signings of Mbappe and Endrick and did not entertain any thoughts of leaving the Santiago Bernabeu despite the interest from Manchester City.

Romano added that Rodrygo considers Real Madrid the ‘best club in the world’ and loves the club and only wanted to stay put with the Spanish capital giants throughout the summer.

Rodrygo dreams of winning more and more titles with Los Blancos and intends to continue as part of the project, which is why he signed a new contract with the club less than a year ago.

Speaking in an interview recently, Rodrygo made that very clear as he said: “I think about winning all the titles that I have already won several times.

“It’s the best club in the world and that’s what motivates me, to be at the level of the best club in the world every day. That’s why I get up every day to train and to be better.”

Whether Rodrygo’s stance regarding his future at Real Madrid changes next year will be interesting to see, especially if he loses some prominence in the team in the ongoing season.
