Former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello has issued a warning to Kylian Mbappe, stating that no matter how big of a star he is, joining Real Madrid means he will need to put in the same level of work as everyone else.
Capello, who knows Real Madrid inside out, especially from his time in charge of the club, shared his thoughts on the matter. Interestingly, his insights carry significant weight, given his history at the club.
Speaking on TMW (h/t Mundo Deportivo), Capello addressed the high expectations that come with playing for Real Madrid.
Message to Mbappe
His message to Mbappe was clear—at Real Madrid, no single player is above the rest. Despite being a global football icon, Mbappe would have to understand that the club is filled with many stars, and he is expected to work just as hard as any of his teammates.
“When a big star comes to Real Madrid, he has to understand that he has to work like any other player. Because at that club there is not one star, but many,” he explained.
Real Madrid have often been criticised for lacking balance on the pitch, but Capello expressed his full confidence in Carlo Ancelotti’s ability to guide the team through these challenges.
He mentioned that Ancelotti, with his wealth of experience, would eventually find the right balance to secure victories for the club.
Although some people feel that Real Madrid haven’t been consistent, Capello emphasised that Ancelotti simply needs time to fine-tune his squad and achieve the results expected of him.
“Carlo will soon find the right balance to achieve victories. I think he needs time, but he knows a lot of things,” he added.
Interestingly, Capello isn’t the only former Real Madrid manager to share his opinion on Mbappe. Just a few days ago, Carlos Queiroz also spoke about Mbappe.
he mentioned that while Mbappe needs time to adjust, the pressure at Real Madrid is immense, and there is little time for any player to get comfortable.
