Real Madrid duo struggling with discomfort ahead of Celta Vigo clash

Recent reports from Jorge Picon (h/t RM4Arab) highlight some minor discomfort concerns for Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin and defender Eder Militao as they aim to return for their upcoming match against Celta Vigo.

Despite these issues, fans can rest easy knowing that key players Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., and Thibaut Courtois are not facing any significant fitness worries.

Lunin, who recently stepped in as Real Madrid’s first-choice goalkeeper during crucial matches against Lille and Villarreal, was unfortunately ruled out of Ukraine’s UEFA Nations League games.

His absence was attributed to a viral infection. This situation arose after he took over for regular goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who was sidelined with a muscle injury at that time.

What happened to Militao?

Meanwhile, Militao faced a setback after travelling to Sao Paulo with fellow Brazilian teammates following Real Madrid’s last victory.

Upon his arrival in Brazil, medical examinations revealed that he had sustained a muscle injury.

It is important to note that Militao had already displayed signs of discomfort during the match against Lille, where he requested to be substituted due to physical concerns.

His decision to return to Madrid from the national team camp was aimed at focusing on his recovery, ensuring he can return to the pitch as soon as possible.

What about the rest?

On the other hand, Kylian Mbappe has been dealing with a minor physical issue but is expected to be available for selection. Vinicius Jr. has also been undergoing rehabilitation work with Real Madrid’s medical team and is now fit to return to action.

Lastly, Courtois, who sustained a muscle knock in the game against Atletico Madrid, has fully recovered and is back in contention for upcoming matches.

As the team looks ahead to their clash against Celta Vigo, the situation with Lunin and Militao will be closely monitored. However, the overall fitness of the squad, particularly the key players, bodes well for Real Madrid’s chances in the match.
