Erling Haaland is one of the most lethal goalscorers in Europe currently and naturally is on the wishlist of all elite clubs, including La Liga rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The 24-year-old superstar has been linked with both teams since before his move to Manchester City back in 2022 and the interest in him continues to date.
Things may have cooled somewhat from Real Madrid’s end following the arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick, but the Norwegian international remains on the club’s agenda.
Meanwhile, Barça president Joan Laporta has made the Manchester City hitman a ‘dream target’.
Real Madrid would have better chances at Haaland signing
However, now, according to a report from Patrick Berger of Sky Germany, it is Real Madrid who would have a better chance of signing Haaland than Barcelona.
As per the report, the 24-year-old Manchester City star is a huge fan of Spain and dreams of playing in La Liga. It is no secret that he regularly holidays in Marbella.
As such, a move to La Liga is very much on Haaland’s agenda, but not immediately. The striker has a contract with Manchester City until 2027 and would rather consider a switch to La Liga in two or three years.
Barcelona, for their part, see him as a dream target but a move for him next summer is unlikely given their financial situation and Robert Lewandowski’s presence.
However, even if they weigh up a move for him later down the line, the report claims that Real Madrid would have the better chances of signing the Manchester City superstar.
Whether Los Blancos go down that road remains to be seen, though, considering they are already blessed with great attacking options in their ranks.
