Borussia Dortmund will not train at Santiago Bernabeu due to fear of ‘spies’

After Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Celta Vigo at the weekend, all eyes in the Spanish capital turn to the upcoming UEFA Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund.

Having lost to Lille on match day 2, Los Blancos find themselves in 17th place on the UCL standings and are thus in a virtually must-win situation if they are to make up ground.

Their opponents, meanwhile, have been in spectacular form in the competition with two wins out of two games and are currently at the top of the table.

A queer development

The two European giants are scheduled to face off late on Tuesday night at Santiago Bernabeu and the Germans are expected to travel to the Spanish capital today as is the norm.

After all, it is customary for the visiting club to undertake at least one training session at the venue to get a feel of the stadium.

As revealed by MARCA, however, Dortmund are changing the plan for this game and the reason is quite shocking.

Dortmund manager Nuri Sahin has decided to undertake his team’s entire pre-match training at the German club’s facilities and avoid training at the Bernabeu to get away from Real Madrid’s spies.

He believes the Merengues could have secret spies planted and ‘hiding’ in the venue to take note of his team’s training regimen and thus prefers to keep his side away from the stadium until kickoff.

Dortmund, thus, will travel to Madrid only after their training and the squad has been selected. They will board their flight at 15:00 and Sahin will give his pre-match press conference immediately after landing.

Real Madrid, for their part, will be focused on finding their mojo once again, especially after escaping with another poor performance at the weekend. Ancelotti is worried and it remains to be seen how he manages the situation.
