Real Madrid identify fans who hurled racist chants against Barcelona stars

Real Madrid’s embarrassing 4-0 defeat at the hands of Barcelona highlighted the team’s shortcomings, both in terms of management and quality.

The taste of bitter defeat was made worse by the actions of some of their bitter fans, who resorted to racist chants against Barcelona star Lamine Yamal.

When the Spaniard was celebrating Barcelona’s third goal by announcing himself in front of supporters at Santiago Bernabeu, some fans started calling him, using racial slurs in the process. Raphinha and Ansu Fati, too, were targeted with racist chants.

Real Madrid and La Liga were quick to condemn the incident and it was reported that the authorities would soon take action against the perpetrators.

The report adds that Real Madrid are expected to sanction a tough punishment on each and every fan involved in the incident.

This is in addition to the sanctions that are likely to be made by La Liga, which may involve banning them either from Santiago Bernabeu or even major stadiums across Spain for a particular period of time.

Shortly after the incident came to light, Real Madrid were quick to condemn the racial slurs thrown against Yamal and co.

The club are now expected to take action and make it clear that such acts are not welcome at the Santiago, home of Vinicius Jr., who has been the prime victim of racism across Spanish stadiums.
