Kylian Mbappe was Real Madrid’s biggest signing since Cristiano Ronaldo when he joined the club on a free transfer this past summer.
There was much optimism surrounding the Frenchman, who had already established himself as one of the best in the world.
However, as we approach November, Mbappe’s form has been far from impressive. Although the attacker has managed to score goals, a chunk of them have come from penalties.
Mbappe’s overall play has looked lax while his connection with Vinicius Junior has not been optimum, to say the least. The player himself is not too happy with his form.
Shortcomings in Mbappe’s game were evident in his performance against Barcelona, as he got caught offside eight times while failing to score a single goal.
Mbappe’s form causing worries at Real Madrid
As reported by Diario AS, Mbappe’s form is starting to concern the Valdebebas, who believe the attacker is not living up to his potential.
The report adds that Mbappe was roped in to become a game-changer in big matches. However, the forward has not been able to make any real impact so far.
His performance against Barcelona, in particular, has not pleased too many fans. Although Real Madrid remain confident that the Frenchman can do better, there are certainly shortcomings in his form.
Mbappe’s woes have started coming to the fore, especially after the Champions League game against Lille. Since that night, Mbappe has scored only once in his last five matches.
The former PSG star, therefore, must soon find his rhythm, especially as Real Madrid brace themselves for tough encounters against Valencia and Milan in the next few days.
Although there are no alarm bells ringing at Real Madrid just yet, the Frenchman has surely failed to become ‘an early big bang’ as promised.
