After staging an excellent comeback victory over Borussia Dortmund last month, Real Madrid’s next assignment in the Champions League is AC Milan.
The reigning European champions are set to take on the Rossoneri on Tuesday, in what will be a must-win encounter.
AC Milan, though a challenging opponent, are scattered in many ways, heading into this fixture. That is primarily because of injuries as well as star player and Barcelona target Rafael Leao’s conflict with coach Paulo Fonseca.
This has greatly affected Milan’s dressing room heading into this key fixture. However, it appears the Rossoneri have received one rare positive.
Tammy Abraham likely to play against Real Madrid
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, AC Milan will be boosted by the return of Tammy Abraham as they take on Los Blancos this midweek.
The former Chelsea man will be able to travel with the squad to Madrid and is likely to be an option for Fonseca in the final third.
Abraham has been suffering from a shoulder injury lately. He was on the bench in the recent Serie A game against Monza, but he was not fit to play.
That will change as AC Milan take on Real Madrid this midweek, with Abraham ready to make an impact at the Bernabeu.
Abraham is likely to serve as an alternative to former Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, who should be a guaranteed starter on the night.
The former Chelsea striker, who joined Milan in the past summer, has scored one goal in eight competitive appearances so far. But he remains a threat due to his movements in the final third.
Not to mention, Abraham has been quite successful in Serie A, notably racking up 37 goals in 120 games for parent club AS Roma.
