Arsenal are interested in 20-year-old Watford and winger Yaser Asprilla, tracking the player this summer, according to a report.
According to Sunday’s print edition of the , Arsenal are one of two Premier League clubs tracking forward Yaser Asprilla this summer.
The Mirror point out that Asprilla has just 12 months left on his current contract, so he could be available in a cut-price deal this summer. and Arsenal are reportedly the two clubs in for him, with his market value listed as £15m.
As well as playing on the wing, left-footed Asprilla is also capable of operating as an attacking midfielder.
The Colombia youngster is currently away with his country at Copa America, with Colombia thrashing 5-0 to reach the semi-finals on Saturday night. They’ll face in the next round on Wednesday night (Thursday at 01:00 BST UK time).
Asprilla is unlikely to play a significant role in the remainder of the tournament, however, having only played 18 minutes of the first four games. Colombia have more experienced options ahead of the Arsenal target at this stage.
But that could be good news for a potential summer move, with Asprilla unlikely to significantly drive up his transfer value from the bench.
For Watford, Asprilla played 47 times in 2023/24, scoring six goals and assisting a further eight. Having largely played a sub role in 2022/23, the 20-year-old took on more responsibility this year, and he did well with the opportunity.
Arsenal now need to decide whether he’s ready to make another step up next season.
