Camavinga talks talks Kroos, Vinicius, Rudiger, Kounde, preferred position

Jules Kounde was on the Barcelona teamsheet when the two perennial rivals went head-to-head last weekend.

However, the Barcelona defender shares a close bond with many of the Real Madrid stars, including the French midfield duo of Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga.

A common factor that binds them all together is their love for fashion. And in a recent interview, Camavinga opened up about Kounde’s fashion taste while discussing various sporting aspects at Real Madrid.

Camavinga on Kounde’s fashion choices

When asked about Kounde’s fashion choices, Camavinga admitted that the Frenchman’s style is often ‘risky’.

“He is risky and he wears things that no one else would wear,” said the French midfielder (h/t Mundo Deportivo), who shares a close bond with both Kounde and Tchouameni.

Kounde is indeed a fashion-loving individual, who is not afraid to don the quirkiest of outfits. But the same even applies to Camavinga, who loves to show off his fashion taste.

Camavinga on replacing Kroos

Shifting the focus to sporting matters, Camavinga talked about the absence of Toni Kroos this season and whether or not he is the ideal replacement.

“I don’t care if there are people who talk about whether I am or am not the solution, what matters to me is that, at the moment, the team is winning,” he said.

The Frenchman also talked about his favourite position, adding, “I prefer to play in the ‘pivot’ and not a full-back. No more, no more, no more.”

Camavinga on injuries & teammates

Camavinga went on to talk about his injury last season which stifled his progress, leaving him on the sidelines for a considerable period.

“Last year was my first long-term injury and I was angry and sad for a long time. Now (he has just recovered from another) I immediately thought that I had to put on a smile and think positively,” he said.

The midfielder offered insights into his teammates and how they behave in the dressing room.

Talking about Vinicius, he said, “Vinicius is always joking.” As for Antonio Rudiger, the midfielder added, “Rudiger is the craziest and he doesn’t do it for show, he is like that, you should see him.”

Camavinga on his scarred childhood

Camavinga’s road to stardom has not been difficult as the midfielder had to endure a lot when he was young. Back in France, he had to see his house burning down and his father crying for the first time.

Reflecting on the topic, the midfielder said, “He told me, you are going to raise this family. I was 10 years old.”

“The most important thing is respect and then enjoying life, not lying to yourself and not lying to others, being authentic,” he concluded.
