The Carabao Cup has reached the Last 16 stage for the 2024/25 season, with teams up and down the country looking to secure success in the cup competition. It’s typically seen as the ‘least important’ tournament of the season, with respective divisions, including the Premier League, and the FA Cup taking priority.
With the fourth round matches set to take place this week, the draw for the next stage of the competition is hurtling over the horizon. The quarter-final ties will take place in the week commencing 17th December.
We have outlined everything you need to know about the Carabao Cup draw tonight, including the teams and ball numbers. This season, every Carabao Cup match is being broadcast live on Sky Sports for fans in the UK, so if you can not watch your side in person, you do not need to worry.

Ball Numbers and Teams
Numbers to be announced on the morning of Wednesday 30th October
Almost three decades after Jimmy Greaves and Ian St John managed to rope Donald Trump into drawing the balls for this competition in 1992, Sky and BBC presenter Chapman will be in charge on Wednesday night. The EFL announced on Monday that the ball numbers for the draw will be officially announced on the morning of Wednesday, 30th October. Six of the eight ties will take place on Wednesday, including Chelsea’s away trip to St James’ Park and Arsenal’s match against Championship side Preston North End.
At this stage of the competition last season, Liverpool beat West Ham 5-1, while Chelsea snuck past Newcastle on penalties. The other two winners were Middlesbrough and Fulham, who secured their spot in the semi-finals at the expense of Port Vale and Everton, respectively.
