National team manager defends Real Madrid megastar amid criticism over recent form

French national team coach Didier Deschamps remains confident in Kylian Mbappe’s abilities and future performance.

Deschamps has assured fans and critics alike that the forward will start scoring goals soon. “Mbappe will score goals. Just relax, we will always be stronger with him.

“I am convinced that in a month it will be better,” Deschamps stated as quoted by Fabrizio Romano

He expressed his belief that things will improve within the next month and emphasised that Mbappe, even when not playing, fully embraces his role as captain. Deschamps added,

“With us, he fully assumes his role as captain, even when he is not playing. I have no worries with Kylian.”

Tough time to be Mbappe

Despite Deschamps’ confidence, Mbappe has faced considerable criticism in France. The source of this criticism remains somewhat unclear, but it appears to stem from a few notable figures, including former teammates of Deschamps, Christophe Dugarry and Bixente Lizarazu.

These critics have voiced their dissatisfaction with Mbappe’s recent performances and his role as a centre forward, similar to his position at Real Madrid.

While Mbappe is not without flaws and has made some errors on his journey to Madrid, the level of scrutiny he is facing seems disproportionate. This treatment appears more like a targeted campaign rather than a fair assessment of his performance.

Questionable appearance against Belgium

In recent events, Mbappe’s performance has been under the spotlight, especially after coming on late during a match against Belgium due to tactical reasons.

Despite this decision being a boost for Real Madrid, Mbappe struggled to make an impact on the field. He came on in the latter part of the second half and had several scoring opportunities but failed to convert them.

This has led to a period of inconsistency for Mbappe since his arrival at Real Madrid.

Fortunately for Real Madrid and coach Carlo Ancelotti, there have been no injuries or setbacks for Mbappe. The team can now focus on preparing for the return of La Liga, with Mbappe expected to rejoin his teammates soon and work towards improving his form.
