Real Madrid 28-year-old star not travelling for Las Palmas clash amid exit rumours

As reported earlier today, Dani Ceballos has asked to leave Real Madrid with less than two days left before the summer transfer window closes.

The 28-year-old midfield ace has been starved of minutes under Carlo Ancelotti despite receiving assurances over his role last year when he signed a new contract with the club until 2027.

As such, he has now asked to leave the Santiago Bernabeu, with Real Betis and AS Monaco interested in signing him. Los Blancos, for their part, have opened the doors to an exit, but are demanding a fee of €20 million for him.

Ceballos not travelling to Gran Canaria

Amidst the speculations surrounding his future, El Chiringuito TV now reports that Dani Ceballos is not travelling with the rest of the Real Madrid squad for tonight’s La Liga encounter against Las Palmas.

Ceballos was named in the official squad list that Carlo Ancelotti announced last evening, but things have happened since then, with the Spaniard now expected to leave the club before the summer window slams shut.

As such, it does not come as a surprise to see that the Spanish international is not part of the travelling squad to the Canary Islands as Real Madrid take on Las Palmas at Gran Canaria later tonight.

Ceballos has played only six minutes of football this season across two matches in all competitions.

The 28-year-old is behind the likes of Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, Luka Modric, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurelien Tchouameni in the midfield pecking order.

In fact, even Arda Guler was chosen ahead of him in midfield in the last game against Real Valladolid with Bellingham and Camavinga unavailable through injury.

While Ancelotti is said to have been keen on retaining Ceballos, it now appears that Real Madrid have accepted his request to leave and are hoping to finalise a transfer before the window closes on Friday midnight.
