Real Madrid academy duo set to travel to US despite uncertain futures

In under a week, Real Madrid will fly out to the USA for their pre-season tour, where they will be playing three friendly matches against AC Milan, FC Barcelona, and Chelsea.

The trip to the States will come without a number of star players who are still on vacation after their involvement in the UEFA Euro 2024 and Copa America.

As such, youngsters from the academy will likely get an opportunity to make the trip and get some exposure as part of the senior team.

Nico Paz, Alvaro to travel to the US

Indeed, journalist Rodra reports that the Real Madrid squad travelling for the US pre-season tour will have a fairly strong academy presence.

Nico Paz and Alvaro Rodriguez are both set to be a part of the travelling party with the senior setup, with both players already being informed of the same.

This is an intriguing development, considering that both Nico and Rodriguez are staring at uncertain futures at the club and have been linked with summer departures.

Furthermore, other players like Mario Martin, Rafa Obrador, Cesar Palacios, and Jeremy De Leon are also expected to be on the squad list for the US trip.

It must be noted that Martin and Obrador, too, have been linked with possible departures this summer given the lack of a pathway into the first-team setup under Ancelotti.

Martin, however, might have an opportunity to work his way into the team especially if Dani Ceballos is to leave the club, what with the Merengues having already lost Toni Kroos to retirement.

Prior to the trip to the US though, Real Madrid will play a behind closed doors friendly against Albacete.
