Real Madrid do not see any player ‘good enough’ in the market to improve current squad

Real Madrid have been the talk of the ongoing summer transfer window. Having signed Kylian Mbappe and Endrick, Los Blancos have a daunting squad ahead of a special season.

With two more weeks remaining before the window closes, there has undoubtedly been speculation of Real Madrid possibly reinforcing other positions of interest with new arrivals.

The centre-back position, in particular, takes precedence on that front as Carlo Ancelotti currently has only Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger as fit senior players in the department.

Not good enough

As revealed in a recent update by Fabrizio Romano (h/t Madrid Xtra), Real Madrid have a simple and valid reason behind their inactivity on the transfer market currently.

The management at the Valdebebas simply does not see players good enough to play for a club of Real Madrid’s stature to be available on the market currently.

Thus, the club will not spend a dime more on new signings as they see it to be futile to bring in a player who is not of the required level. There will be no more signings for the Merengues this summer.

The Alphonso Davies case

While it has been known for a long time now that Carlo Ancelotti sees his squad to be closed, Alphonso Davies was seen as one player who could become an exception to the rule.

After all, there is no doubt that the player has the quality to play and succeed at the Spanish capital and the club was in talks with Bayern Munich.

As revealed in a recent update, however, Los Blancos are not expected to make any late bid for the star left-back and will look to sign him as a free agent next summer.

The only player fit as an exception, thus, will not arrive this summer and the door for new arrivals appears tightly closed.
