Real Madrid identify Arsenal superstar as top target for 2025, contacts made

The recent injury to Dani Carvajal has served as a catalyst Real Madrid, as far as their transfer plans are concerned.

Although the reigning Spanish champions are unlikely to make any moves in the upcoming January transfer window, they are looking at multiple players for the summer of 2025.

Real Madrid eyeing summer move for Saliba

In fact, Real Madrid appear to have already identified a top defensive target in 2025, in the form of William Saliba.

According to Le 10Sport, the Arsenal star has emerged as the top priority for Los Blancos as they look to shore up their defences next summer.

Saliba was linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu last summer as well but the move did not materialise, perhaps due to a lack of concrete interest.

But this time around, Real Madrid are serious about getting their hands on the Frenchman, who has been a consistent performer for Arsenal.

Contacts made with Saliba’s entourage

The report even adds that Real Madrid have established contacts with Saliba’s entourage, with the club seeking the possibility of a summer move.

In the coming months, Real Madrid are expected to strengthen its grip on Saliba and try to convince him to make the move to Santiago Bernabeu.

Arsenal, for their part, consider Saliba non-transferable, with Mikel Arteta identifying him as a valuable part of his project.

But Real Madrid are likely to flex their financial muscle next summer, in an attempt to lure the Frenchman to the Spanish shores.
