Real Madrid impressed by teenage ‘phenomenon’ despite lacklustre pre-season displays

Real Madrid fans got a chance to see their new signing Endrick in action during the pre-season tour of the USA.

The 18-year-old, who arrived from Brazilian club Palmeiras this summer, 18 months after the club signed him, did not have the best of pre-seasons as he failed to make much of an impression against AC Milan or Barcelona.

Endrick did not feature at all during Real Madrid’s final pre-season friendly against Chelsea last night due to some minor physical issue.

Endrick leaves positive impression

Despite his lacklustre displays on the US tour, Real Madrid have been left very positively impressed by Endrick in his early days at the club, reports The Athletic.

Even though Endrick failed to score in both his appearances on US soil, Carlo Ancelotti and his staff are said to have been impressed by what he brings to the table.

In fact, one dressing room source describes the 18-year-old Brazilian wonderkid as a ‘phenomenon’.

While there are certainly flaws in the youngster’s game, many members of the Real Madrid coaching staff and the sporting department were impressed by Endrick’s performances in training while on the US tour, especially his eye for a goal during training matches.

The youngster is believed to have struck up a bond with fellow teenager Arda Guler, signs of which were visible briefly during the AC Milan clash.

Despite him not scoring in the matches, Real Madrid, board and staff members, are calm and believe that the ‘phenomenon’ will be a success.

Endrick is seen as a good fit inside the dressing room, but Real Madrid will progress cautiously with the youngster as they do not intend to put him under too much pressure.
