Real Madrid key defender recovers in time to face Real Sociedad, midfielder a doubt

The international break started poorly for Real Madrid, with the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni, Ferland Mendy, and Eder Militao suffering injuries while with their respective national teams.

However, the situation has improved in recent days and Real Madrid have received a major boost heading into Saturday’s La Liga clash against Real Sociedad.

Eder Militao set to be available

Indeed, according to MARCA, Eder Militao will be fit and available to take on Real Sociedad, providing a major boost to Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old centre-back initially caused alarm when he left the Brazilian national team camp due to injury.

Militao’s absence was particularly concerning due to David Alaba’s injury-enforced absence and young Jacobo Ramon’s unavailability, which left only Jesus Vallejo as an alternative partner for Antonio Rudiger in central defence.

However, Militao has recovered from his injury, which was described as “an overload in the rectus anterior of his right leg.” He is now in perfect condition to play against Real Sociedad in the upcoming match.

If Ancelotti deems it appropriate, Militao will not miss this important league fixture, which has gained special relevance due to Real Madrid’s dodgy start to the league season.

Mendy also back, Tchouameni a doubt

Meanwhile, as already confirmed on Tuesday, both Ferland Mendy and Jesus Vallejo have also been passed fit and will be available to face Real Sociedad away at the Reale Arena on Saturday.

However, Tchouameni continues to suffer discomfort. It is true that he has trained and that for the moment there does not seem to be a bone injury in one of the metatarsals of his left foot, but he is still not at 100%.

There is some concern and above all caution given the Frenchman’s history with this type of injury. As such, his involvement on Saturday remains a doubt.
