Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni has gradually grown from one of world football’s most talented youngsters to a proper member of Europe’s elite. At this point, he is a regular for both club and country and a seasoned campaigner.
Earlier this week, the youngster made his debut as the captain of the French national team in the absence of Kylian Mbappe, a testament to his importance on the field and his quality.
It is thus not surprising that the Frenchman’s is regularly linked with a transfer as several top clubs have their eyes on him. One party that has been following his situation regularly is Liverpool.
Move ruled out
As revealed in a recent report by The Daily Briefing, Tchouameni is not interested in a possible move to Liverpool and is focused on the project at Real Madrid.
From the club’s perspective, the defensive midfielder is an essential part of the team’s project and future and they would not be willing to sanction a departure.
Carlo Ancelotti appreciates Tchouameni’s quality and versatility on the field and is thus opposed to giving the player away for any economic compensation. Moreover, he sees the youngster to be a key figure in the dressing room.
So far this season, the 24-year-old has made eight La Liga starts for Real Madrid and averages over ten defensive actions per game.
Despite being a midfielder by trade, he has seen a lot of his minutes come in central defence given Real Madrid’s acute shortage of resources.
As revealed earlier this week, Ancelotti plans on utilising the player more out of position this season, especially after Dani Carvajal’s injury. Tchouameni, for his part, is glad to fill in wherever the manager requires.
