Real Madrid midfielder backs Mbappe for success at club following topsy-turvy start

Currently on international duty with France, Eduardo Camavinga was recently asked about his compatriot Kylian Mbappe and his integration at Real Madrid so far.

The former PSG superstar joined Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer. He was arguably one of the club’s biggest transfers since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009, with many expecting him to become the face of the club in the years to come.

Mbappe, so far, has had a cautious start to the new season. His teammate Camavinga, though, backed the Frenchman to succeed at Santiago Bernabeu going forward.

Speaking to French media (h/t MARCA), Camavinga talked about Mbappe’s progress, stating, “Everything is fine. He speaks Spanish very well, which makes his arrival easier.”

The French midfielder was then asked whether or not Mbappe would make it big at Real Madrid, especially after a topsy-turvy start to the campaign.

Since joining the club in the summer, Mbappe has racked up seven goals in all competitions, five of which came in La Liga.

However, three of Mbappe’s league goals come in the form of penalties. The Frenchman has also lacked proper interplay and synergy with his attacking teammates including Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.

But in response to the question, Camavinga suggested Mbappe is already a key player at Real Madrid.

“He’s already doing it. He has scored a lot of goals and I think he’ll continue like this,” the Frenchman said.

Camavinga is not the only player who has backed Mbappe to succeed at Real Madrid. However, it is about time the Frenchman steps up his game, especially if the club are to keep up with Barcelona in the race for the league title.
