Real Madrid move for €50 million-rated Bayern speedster ruled out this summer

Leading up to the summer transfer window, Real Madrid appeared to have three priority targets – Kylian Mbappe, Alphonso Davies, and Leny Yoro.

As we get set to enter the final week of the summer window, the Merengues have been successful in signing only one of those three players – Mbappe.

Yoro opted to sign for Manchester United instead – a move that may have turned into a blessing in disguise for Los Blancos given that he is already injured and facing an extended spell on the sidelines.

As for Davies, there have been continued speculations about a move without anything noteworthy happening as Real Madrid are reluctant to pay over the odds while Bayern Munich are unwilling to sell for a bargain price.

As such, unless anything changes, there is no prospect of an Alphonso Davies transfer to Real Madrid taking place this summer, reports The Athletic.

The Merengues would only consider making a late move for the Canadian speedster if Bayern Munich are willing to relax on their stance with regard to the left-back.

However, as things stand, there are no indications that will happen as the Bavarians have not put Davies up for sale and seem willing to risk losing him for free in 2025 when his contract expires.

Thus, the Canadian left-back is expected to continue at the Allianz Arena for one more season at the very least.

And if he does not sign a renewal between now and next summer, Real Madrid would be in a great position to snap up his services on a free transfer, like they did with Kylian Mbappe this year.
