Real Madrid plan to strengthen three more positions after Mbappe signing

Real Madrid made a blistering start to the summer transfer window with the acquisition of Kylian Mbappe from PSG on a free transfer.

After that, two more signings appeared to be on the track, with the Merengues eager to rope in Leny Yoro and Alphonso Davies.

However, things have not gone according to plan on either front as Yoro has joined Manchester United and Davies seems likely to remain at Bayern Munich for one more year.

Transfer window still not over

It has prompted suggestions that the summer transfer window might already be over as far as Real Madrid are concerned.

However, according to The Athletic, Real Madrid intend to strengthen three more positions after the acquisition of Kylian Mbappe.

The three positions that they intend to bolster are centre-back, goalkeeper, and left-back.

As far as the centre-back position is concerned, Yoro had been the top target. Now, unless an interesting option presents itself in the market, Real Madrid intend to stick with their current options.

A new goalkeeper signing hinges on what Andriy Lunin does, although it is increasingly looking like he would be on his way out of the Santiago Bernabeu.

In that case, Los Blancos will seek a new No. 2, with all signs pointing towards Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Finally, Alphonso Davies remains the priority target as far as the left-back position is concerned.

However, with Bayern Munich unwilling to lower their price for him, and willing to let him run down his contract, a deal could be tricky to pull off.
