Real Madrid set to face Liverpool battle in race for €130m-rated German sensation

Following a tepid start to the 2024/25 campaign, Real Madrid have already started looking out for players who can reinforce the team in the coming future.

This is despite the fact that Los Blancos were able to rope in Kylian Mbappe and Endrick in the summer. It appears the Spanish giants are looking to further strengthen their squad as they seek to maintain their dominance in both domestic and European competitions.

One of the key areas identified for improvement is the creative midfield, and Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala has emerged as a prime target for Los Blancos.

Liverpool enter race to sign Musiala

However, Real Madrid are not alone in their pursuit of Musiala. According to Football Insider, Premier League giants Liverpool have entered the race and are keen to swoop for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder.

The Reds, along with Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and other European heavyweights, are closely monitoring Musiala’s situation at Bayern.

Regarded as one of the most gifted young players in world football, Musiala is pretty much a part of Bayern Munich’s project.

However, with the youngster’s contract expiring in 2026, clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid, are ready to test Bayern’s resolve by sounding out a move in the summer of 2025.

Real Madrid have historically been very effective when it comes to luring players with the promise of better sporting prospects. The club are hopeful they can replicate that formula with Musiala next summer.

However, the renewed competition from Liverpool could complicate matters, especially knowing the Premier League giants may have deeper pockets in 2025.

Real Madrid have no shortage of alternatives, though, and have also targeted Florian Wirtz, in their bid to reinforce the ranks in the creative department next summer.
