Real Madrid tie down 18-year-old defensive prospect to a new contract

Real Madrid have substantially reinforced their ranks this summer through the summer of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick.

However, the reigning European champions are equally keen on shoring up their ranks in the youth academy as well.

To that end, Real Madrid have acquired the services of several young players this summer while resting faith on existing La Fabrica starlets.

Real Madrid renew contract of Alejandro Moya

According to Diario AS, Real Madrid have formalised the renewal of youth prospect Alejandro Moya.

A right-back by trade, Moya is officially a part of the Real Madrid U19 squad, who spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Levante U19.

Moya was one of the star performers for Levante’s U19 setup last term, even compelling the Spanish outfit to try and sign him permanently. He notably scored five goals while impressing onlookers with his nimble football and technical efficiency.

Real Madrid, however, had no intention of offloading Moya and have now renewed his contract.

Can Moya make a breakthrough?

As mentioned earlier, Moya is coming on the back of a stellar loan spell at Levante’s U19 setup and is likely to be one of Arbeloa’s trusted players in the Real Madrid C team next season.

However, if the 18-year-old continues his progress, he could even make a push to be included in Real Madrid’s reserve squad, led by none other than Raul.

Moya still has a long way to go before he can push for a place in Real Madrid’s first-team. However, given Los Blancos‘ lack of options in the right-back position, the youngster has an excellent opportunity to establish himself as a trusted first-team option in the years to come.
