Real Madrid striker Juanmi Latasa spent last season on loan at Getafe, accumulating 32 La Liga appearances and two goals in the process.
His output, however, was largely underwhelming and did not give his foster club enough reason to believe in his continuity.
The 23-year-old is thus back training in Madrid but his future is largely unclear. All signs point to his departure this summer.
Abundant interest
Despite his average numbers last season, Mundo Deportivo reveals that several clubs are interested in signing Latasa this month.
For starters, there is no shortage of clubs interested in La Liga with Real Betis, Sevilla, Espanyol, Real Valladolid and Getafe all said to be in the race. Of them, the last two are best placed to earn his services.
Apart from Spain, however, the youngster has other options on his plate with Fiorentina and Torino attentively eyeing his situation.
In addition to his two goals last season, the striker created two big chances and averaged 0.6 key passes per game. While he did underperform his xG which stood at 3.8 in La Liga, the statistic shows that he regularly got into good scoring positions.
No room in Madrid
The Spanish outlet further reports that Real Madrid are delighted with Latasa’s form and quality in training, contrary to popular belief.
However, the competition in the forward department in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad ahead of next season is simply unforgiving.
With Endrick, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Kylian Mbappe in the mix, there is very limited scope for any young talent to secure minutes.
It remains to be seen where the 23-year-old decides to move from the options he has on his table but the Real Madrid door is closed.
