Real Madrid’s Ballon d’Or candidate rejects bumper offer from Saudi Arabia – report

There is much excitement in the Real Madrid camp surrounding the attacking combination between Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe next season.

Vinicius, in particular, will be looking to retain himself as the leader of the Real Madrid frontline, but it will be interesting to see how he co-ordinates with Mbappe in the final third.

There are, after all, fears that Vinicius and Mbappe may have a power struggle at Real Madrid, which, in turn, could lead to one of their departures in the years to come.

However, in a significant development, Vinicius has reiterated his loyalty to Real Madrid by turning down a substantial offer from Saudi Arabia.

This is according to The Athletic, which suggests the 24-year-old Brazilian was approached by a delegation from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.

The delegation, acting on behalf of the country’s Ministry of Sport, aimed to persuade Vinicius to become the face of their league ahead of the 2034 World Cup, set to be held in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi bid for the 2034 World Cup, which currently stands uncontested, will be confirmed at the FIFA Congress on December 11.

Despite the lucrative nature of the offer, Vinicius Jr has decided to stay committed to Real Madrid, where he recently extended his contract until 2027, featuring a staggering €1 billion release clause.

Despite the allure of the Saudi offer, Vinicius remains focused on his goals at Real Madrid. The Brazilian international is driven by the dream of winning the Ballon d’Or as a Real Madrid player, a goal he believes is achievable with the club’s support and his continued development.
