Rodri makes huge Cole Palmer prediction after Chelsea star shines in Euro 2024 final

Spain star Rodri is confident Cole Palmer is destined for a glittering future after the England star impressed again during his side’s heartbreaking Euro 2024 final defeat.

The 22-year-old forced his way into Gareth Southgate’s squad after a stellar first season at Chelsea following his surprise move from Manchester City.

Palmer, who only made his senior Three Lions debut last November, was selected at the expense of seasoned internationals, including his former club colleague Jack Grealish.

The gifted forward has taken to the international scene effortlessly and produced a number of impressive cameos as England made their way, against the odds, to the final in Berlin.

Palmer enhanced his burgeoning reputation with a superb long-range strike that briefly threatened to turn the momentum of the contest in England’s favour.

‘We knew they don’t need to do a great game to score goals,’ said Rodri, who was forced off at half-time with an injury.

‘I know these guys, he’s (Cole’s)a huge talent and going to be a top player in the next years, he put it in the corner.

Rodri and Spain celebrated another major title

‘In these moments we suffered a little bit but in this tournament we saw something different to overcome the situations.’

The night and the tournament belonged to Spain, however, and Rodri believes this is just the start of another period of domination for La Roja.

He added: ‘It’s unbelievable, this is a dream. Nowe we are the best national team in the Euros, this is crazy.

‘This stuff is about how humble we have been all these years to keep working and neve lose the faith. And this tournament? Come on we we beat four World Cup champions. It was so tough, it was unbelievable.

‘Imagine what we have next. We are so happy to make history but this doesn’t stop here.

‘The future for us is going to be everything because we have the talent and now we will face whatever comes but it’s important to celebrate what we have done.’
