Jude Bellingham started off the new season in fine form for Real Madrid, providing one assist in the UEFA Super Cup and standing out as one of the best players of the match.
He carries his good form into the clash against Mallorca but an unfortunate injury saw him miss out the team’s next three games.
As the team returns to action after the international break, Bellingham appears set to make a comeback to the field and reports earlier today confirmed the positive prognosis.
Ancelotti jokes Real Madrid brought the wrong Bellingham
In a recent video on his official YouTube channel, the Real Madrid star recalled a memorable incident from his early days at the club where Carlo Ancelotti poked fun at him after watching videos of his brother, Jobe Bellingham, scoring twice in a game.
“I still remember when my brother Jobe scored twice. We were watching the game and Ancelotti said: ‘Damn! we brought the wrong one! I’m going to bring him here.’,” he recalled.
Bellingham then added that he asked the coach where he would play his brother should such a deal materialise and revealed Ancelotti’s witty reply.
“I asked him where he was going to play him and he said in my position,” he added.
Bellingham reflects on Real Madrid transfer
As part of the same video, the player also lived back to the special day he was presented as a new Real Madrid player and stated that he just could not get enough of that experience.
“I could live that day over a thousand times if I could,” said Bellingham.
Upon his arrival in Madrid, the young phenom was given jersey number 5, one of the most prestigious kits in Real Madris history given his association with Zinedine Zidane.
“I will never forget that moment seeing my name with the No. 5 on it.”
“I’m not coming here to be Zidane, he was amazing. I’m trying to be Jude Bellingham who continues the No. 5 legacy,” he added.
Finally, Bellingham gave his two cents on his celebration incident against Athletic Club last season when the opposition players tried to coerce him against his trademark move.
“I did the celebration I always do and I remember a couple of their players (Athletic) coming to me and saying you can’t do that celebration here.”
“But yeah I’ve not listened and I’ll probably keep doing it,” he added.
